CALGARY - Want to be a better basketball player? Take advantage of one of many basketball development opportunities with the Dinos women's basketball team this spring and summer!
Led by long-time Dinos coaches Shawnee Harle and Claire Mitton, the Dinos have four exciting opportunities for you this off-season that will be sure to both improve your game and expose you to a very high calibre of women's basketball.
1) Dinos Spring League
The Spring League runs for six consecutive Sunday's beginning April 25 (excluding the May long weekend) for girls in Grade 7 to 12 (advanced Grade 6 players will be considered). All practices and games are held in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium in the UC Kinesiology Building. Click here for more detailed information and the registration form.
2) Point Guard College
The Point Guard College ( PGC), a Texas-based summer camp program that runs sessions throughout North America from May to August, is a highly rated camp for skilled high school aged point guards. Many PGC graduates of the have gone on to play at different University and Professional levels.
In partnership with the Dinos, from Friday, May 28th to Sunday May 30th, the PGC is coming to Calgary to run one of their clinics! Stay tuned for more information on this fabulous and unique opportunity on the women's basketball webpage as it comes available.
3) Dinos Basketball Development Camps
A popular staple amongst Calgary summer camps, the Dinos girls basketball camps are back once again during the first and third weekends of July. Open to youth of all experience levels from grades 7-12, these full-day camps are run by Dinos coaches and athletes who are eager to improve your basketball skills.
Camps run during the weeks of July 5-9 and 19-23 in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium. Click here for more on our programming as well as registration information.
4) Awesome Hoops Camp
This camp is a "step-up" from our regular summer development camps. The Awesome Hoops Camp runs during the week of July 12-15 at Masters Academy in south-west Calgary.
