Dinos-Pronghorns hockey games postponed due to weather

| By:
CALGARY – Due to extreme weather and treacherous driving conditions on the highways of southern Alberta, the Universities of Calgary and Lethbridge have agreed to postpone Saturday night's Canada West men's and women's hockey contests between the Dinos and Pronghorns.

The RCMP issued a travel advisory early Saturday afternoon, warning against all travel on highways south of Calgary due to blowing snow conditions and extremely low visibility in areas.

The women's game, originally scheduled for Calgary's Olympic Oval at 7:30 p.m., will be made up later in the season on a date agreeable to both schools. Further details will be confirmed and announced in the coming week. Pre-sold tickets for the game will be honoured on the rescheduled date or refunded by the Dinos.

The Dinos men were scheduled to play in Lethbridge Saturday night to complete their home-and-home series, which opened Friday night in Calgary. That game will also be made up later in the season, with details to be announced.

Saturday night's basketball games at the Jack Simpson Gym between the Dinos and the Fraser Valley Cascades are not impacted by this announcement and will go ahead as scheduled. Tip-off for the women's game is 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m.
